He’s developed into one of the world’s best riders, having finished second at the 2024 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships. He missed most of the 2024-25 season due to shingles, returning only in January 2025. That didn’t stop him from snatching victory at the Middelkerke round of the Superprestige and fourth at the World Championships.

Popular Felipe Orts is Spain’s clear number one at cyclocross. Her sports career started in the Dutch game of Korfball. A dedicated cyclocrosser, the twenty-six-year-old last won a top race in 2022, but this season she looks close to her best. On a technical course, she could well come out on top.

British cyclocross champion Cameron Mason has yet to win a top cyclocross race. He achieved a slightly surprising second place at the 2023 European Championships in the muddy and slippery conditions in which he excels. At twenty-five, he still has time to develop the horsepower of his rivals. Mason is currently sporting an unfashionable moustache that has to go.

Annemarie Worst has more ups and downs in her career than most. She ended the last road season with a crash that fractured her collarbone and damaged tendons. At twenty-nine, time is running out to recapture her previous form that netted her the UCI World Cup, the European Championships and a string of victories. Only a World Championship is missing from her honours, having finished twice in second place.

The youth on the squad is provided by Guus van den Eijden. Since returning from his two-year doping ban, he appears to have lost neither his form nor his fan base. Without him, his current team will rely upon a youthful squad. The oldest of which is twenty-three-year-old Victor Van De Putte. He often appears to perform better in rounds of the World Cup.

Mees Hendrikx was one place behind Kuhn at Dübendorf, and their careers have followed similar trajectories. It was a surprise, therefore, when they signed the Dutch rider Denise Betsema, who was let go by Pauwels Sauzen.

The sand specialist and mother of two lives on the island of Texel. Unfortunately, she always seems beset by illness or injury. The perennial runner-up in the Belgian Championship may have seen her best years.
